QuickTip: Preparing for ACE Exam
Hey people! How are you?! 😀
As you probably noticed, I’m not posting that much on blog last month or two. One of the reasons is that I’m preparing to take Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) exam, so I’m studying hard! First thing I asked myself is how to prepare for exam, what I have to know? Well, if I want to have that last letter E (expert) than I have to know all about InDesign, to have it in my little finger 😀
So, first place I went was Adobe Certifications page. Detailed exam instructions for each Adobe product can be found on their ACE Exams and Preparation Resources. This page is little bit messed up but it’s working 🙂
Next, I have found an awesome eBook: The InDesignSecrets Guide to the InDesign CS4 ACE Exam (PDF) by Mike Rankin. He is also one of contributors on InDesign Secrets! Every chapter ends with few questions directly connected with topics covered in that chapter. I guarantee you that this eBook covers all topics necessary for successful taking exam. But, don’t expect too much, you need to practice also! 😀 Mike is also preparing eBook for CS5, so stay tuned, I’m sure it will be out soon!
Mike Rankin just published his new ACE guide for InDesign CS5! AWESOME! Check out info here: Guide to the InDesign CS5 ACE Exam eBook Available (review by Anne-Marie Concepcion) and you can buy the book here: Guide to the InDesign CS5 ACE Exam
Also, recently I stumbled upon great product called AceQuestions developed by Paul Cracknell. What’s inside? Inside is PDF containing 75 single-choice questions, and at the end you can see how many correct answers you’ve got, and also review answered questions.
And at the end, when you think you are ready for exam, find nearest Pearson VUE testing center and book your exam! Also, don’t forget recertification process! Every time new version of InDesign is released (same apples to all programs from Adobe package), you need to retake the test to keep your ACE updated! Recertification allows you to take shorter test with just differences between old and new version. You have three months after new version is released to take just recertification exam, and if you don’t, you have to take complete exam again. For further info check Adobe Certifications page and also Mikes book.
I wish you luck in your ACE study and exam! 😀
