Keyboard shortcuts are a big time saver! And when I say big, I mean BIG! I love shortcuts, and by time, they become part of you, and your everyday workflow! But! It’s becoming difficult to remember all shortcuts when you use more than one program, and I know you do! So, I decided to create nice little interactive shortcuts guide and to be even better, I wanted to use just InDesign‘s interactive features!
Hey people! How are you?!
As you probably noticed, I’m not posting that much on blog last month or two. One of the reasons is that I’m preparing to take Adobe Certified Expert (ACE) exam, so I’m studying hard! First thing I asked myself is how to prepare for exam, what I have to know? Well, if I want to have that last letter E (expert) than I have to know all about InDesign, to have it in my little finger
Almost every media file contains info about it’s contents. Adobe’s XMP (Extensible Metadata Platform) is, as they say, “a labeling technology that allows you to embed data about a file, known as Metadata, into the file itself”.
This was text part for first post about reading and writing XMP data. Metadata is powerful and you can store all kind of data. Some most common used fields are: Document title, Author, Author Title, Description and Keywords.
So, I decided to create small panel that shows you number of currently selected objects. It will not count objects inside groups.
Hope you will find this panel useful and handy!
Few days ago, my very good friend Martinho da Gloria posted picture that inspired me. It was picture of web of panel based web browser inside InDesign CS5! It was simple, just with address bar and page window, and I decided to expand it little bit more. I added back/forward, refresh, stop buttons, little menu with some useful links. Hope you will find it useful as much as I do!

I just want to thank you all who visited my blog!
I hope you find it good and useful in your work with InDesign Scripting! THANKS!
I’m a Graphic Designer/Prepress and Imposition operator from Subotica/Serbia. My everyday work includes working with Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, CorelDRAW. I recently started to write scripts to speedup my work with InDesign. Please excuse me for my sometimes bad English, my mother language is Serbian
So, here you will able to find short scripting snippets that are useful, and can be used in bigger scripts for InDesign. Some of these snippets will not be mine, so I will credit real author. Most of this snippets can be found on Adobe’s InDesign Scripting forum, but sometimes, when you need something specific it’s really hard to find it there.
All snippets will be labeled with InDesign version and I will try to test every snippet I post.
Snippets will be kept shortest and simplest as possible, and if necessary, with short explanation and/or code breakdown.
If you have some snippet, suggestion, maybe question, feel free to contact me, and I’ll try to answer you.
